Mike Liu is a hospitality consultant specializing in space design and branding. With international experience spanning over 10 years in the design industry, he draws from different disciplines to highlight the story of the characters involved: the owners and operators, the cooks and front of house, the bartenders and baristas, and the brand and its audience. His approach is two-pronged: resulting in projects that are both diner-centric and operationally focused.

Currently the Managing Director of Shanghai-based design studio FORMING, his past experience includes his previous position managing the retail design department of Seesaw Coffee.

In addition, he is behind the teams who have opened up their own venues, with the recent being Yaya’s, a neighborhood pasta bar, as well as the team behind Lucky Mart and Lucky Diner.
